ALL CITIZENS NIE NUMBERS (FOREIGNER’S IDENTIFICATION – TAX NUMBER)
If you are about to own a property in Spain, or live here as a resident, you will need an N.I.E. number which identifies you and is used as a tax reference. We provide a service to obtain new NIEs and you can request an an estimate by clicking here to contact us.
PADRON LOCAL COUNCIL REGISTRATION
The Padrón is the local council registration certificate required by all residents and is a pre-requisite to applying for residency or receiving social services. We can provide the registration and obtain this on a client’s behalf.
PADRON LOCAL COUNCIL UNREGISTRATION
If you are leaving the country to live somewhere else or going back home we can contact the local council and de-register your residency with them.
REGISTRY OF FOREIGN NATIONALS
If you intend to live in or own a property in Spain, you are required to register your residence and obtain a registration certificate from the Central Register of Foreign Nationals (Registro Central de Extranjeros). EU CITIZENS RESIDENCE
After a continuous period of 5 years living here, EU-citizens acquire the right to permanent residence in Spain. They can apply for a permanent residence document, which confirms their right to live in this country without any conditions. NON-EU CITIZENS RESIDENCE
We provide legal support to prepare and apply for any of the following different types of visa and residency permits:
- Non lucrative visa and residency permit.
- Golden visa and residency permit.

BRITISH CITIZENS PRE-BREXIT APPLICATIONS
Not all applications made before the Brexit deadline of 31st December 2020 are yet complete. MARTA ROMERO LAW FIRM can provide advice and legal support for unresolved cases and ongoing appeals for British citizens who were resident in Europe before the deadline.
BRITISH CITIZENS POST-BREXIT APPLICATIONS
As for other non EU citizens we can provide the legal advice, checks and information required to support residency and visa requests. We can also submit the required documentation online and provide our office as the contact point for authorities to smooth the process for anyone that does not enjoy working with bureaucracy.
